Fire extinguishers  (For further information refer to BS 5306 or equivalent)

Annual inspection

We consider that this should be done by a competent person having an adequate understanding of the appropriate standard and manufacturers recommendations and guidelines.

A certificate of inspection is left at the time at of the visit, which gives details of the number and type of extinguisher on site.  A copy certificate is kept at our office and a duplicate can be issued on request.

Firecover ensure that the client has understanding in the use and application of the fire equipment to help reassure that the client has sufficient knowledge in the event of an incident and made aware of their responsibilities to carry out monthly inspections.

The checks are to include that the extinguishers are in the correct location, tamper seals are in place, suitably mounted and have not been discharged, (or lost pressure for those fitted with an indicator), or suffered obvious damage.
